本作は、人間と融合した目覚まし時計を模したロボット作品です。
人の心に残る「幼さ」をテーマに制作しました。
子供の頃、苦手だったものの一つに「朝起きること」があります。目覚まし時計が鳴ってもなかなか起きられず、最終的には親に怒られながら起こされる。そんな子供の頃の記憶や、誰もが一度は経験したことのある「起こされる怖さ」を、本作では老人のような恐ろしい顔として表現しています。
機械的な造形と人間の顔を融合させることで、目覚まし時計という無機質な存在に、人間らしい感情や記憶を持たせました。
鑑賞の際には、機械部分の細かな造形にも注目していただければ幸いです。細部に至るまで一つひとつ手作業で制作しており、顔のシワも粘土ベラを使って一つずつ造形し、何度も修正を重ねながら現在の表情へと仕上げています。
一見すると恐ろしい表情をした存在ですが、その姿の背景にある「朝起きられない子供」と「それを起こす親」という身近な記憶にも思いを巡らせながら、ご覧いただければと思います。

Artwork Description
This work is a robot sculpture inspired by an alarm clock fused with the human body.
The work was created around the theme of the sense of “childhood” that remains within the human heart.
One of the things I found difficult as a child was waking up in the morning. Even when my alarm clock rang, I could never seem to get out of bed, and eventually, I would be woken up by my parents, sometimes while being scolded.
The memory of those childhood mornings, as well as the fear of being forced to wake up—something many people may have experienced at least once—is represented in this work through the frightening, elderly-like face.
By combining mechanical forms with a human face, I wanted to give an otherwise inorganic object—the alarm clock—human emotions and memories.
When viewing the work, I hope you will also pay attention to the intricate details of the mechanical parts. Every detail was created by hand. The wrinkles on the face were individually sculpted using clay sculpting tools, and the expression was refined through repeated adjustments until it reached its final form.
At first glance, the work may appear to be a frightening figure. However, I hope you will also consider the familiar memory behind its appearance: the child who cannot wake up in the morning, and the parent who tries to wake them.
