本作は、表は赤ん坊の顔、裏は老人の顔になっており、どちらも表裏一体である「生と死は隣り合わせ」という考えを表現しています。
人間だけでなく、植物や金属、機械など、さまざまなものも時間の経過とともに変化し、やがてその姿を失っていきます。そうした「生まれること」と「老いていくこと」を、異なるモチーフを用いて表現しました。今回は、それぞれ異なるモチーフで全5種類を制作しています。
また、本作はシリコン型を使って複製しています。型によって同じ形が繰り返し生み出されることを、生と死が絶えず繰り返されてきた生命の循環に重ねています。

※レジンの内部は空洞のため、軽量な仕上がりとなっております。

This work features a baby’s face on the front and an elderly person’s face on the back, expressing the idea that life and death are two sides of the same coin and always exist side by side.
Not only humans, but also plants, metal, machines, and other forms of matter change over time and eventually lose their original form. Through five different motifs, this work explores the processes of being born, changing, and eventually fading away.
The sculptures are reproduced using silicone molds. The repeated process of creating the same forms through molds reflects the continuous cycle of life and death that has existed throughout history.

※ The inside of the resin sculpture is hollow, making it lightweight.
